What’s Next is built on the idea of providing environmental solutions through creative innovations, to realize a world in which nothing is wasted—changing how people view their role in creating a sustainable future. The goal is to raise awareness among the general public about how we can all recycle more and at the same time to evoke your inner creativity to make everyday life a little bit greener. What’s next is a platform for anyone , whether you’re an artist, or students or simply anyone who cares about the environment to showcase the benefits of recycling to a wider audience.
My events consists of series of small intervention all through out the Drill Hall Library page sort of like a 'warning' before the real event takes place. I pasted 25 CardBots (they're my little messenger) that works as my advertising campaign of my Facebook page also part of my vision of saying to the public that you can be creative with recycled materials too!
I published a Facebook page dedicated as a learning hub for recycling and also a platform for public to share their own creation and experience. Since then, people have been sharing their pictures of projects and events happening around them that related to the project.
A video I made with an ulterior message of how our actions now can do to our future.
My project was inspired by a lot of things. But the one that I really admired was "The Yarn Bombing" trending that has been happening in the Australia and some parts in London. Also, a few other recycling project by non-profits community a send their message across with creativity.
The reason why I used Facebook as a platform because, nowadays EVERYONE has a facebook account. My event is not only targeting to raise awareness towards recycling but the main purpose of the event is also to experiment people's behaviour towards creative advertising. From what I found, during 2 months of public campaigning using my CardBots, people reactions towards them have been so enlightening. Not having too much informations on the CardBots, I put the QR code for all those curious people to get to know more about the project. Some reacted badly and some reacted positively towards the non-traditional way of advertising. People who find my CardBots and scanned the QR code, they liked my Facebook page as soon as the code links them to Facebook. Some posted on the Facebook wall saying it was a cool project although they didn't even know about the project. I say, THE POWER OF CREATIVE ADVERTISING. https://www.facebook.com/WhatsNextFuture
